Mr. and Mrs. Stark
Owners Richard and Susan Stark opened up Sports Country Camp in 1971. Richard and Susan have been strong educators in the Austin area since the 1960′s. They are now retired and maintain camp year round and remain a large part of the Sports Country camp family.
Richard Stark
Richard Stark has been in education since 1997 with experience in teaching and administration. He has a PhD in anthropology with a focus in archeaology. A naturalist who loves to be outdoors, Richard leads hikes, fishing excursions and developed the earth skills program. Richard has been with Sports Country since 1971.
Tesa Stark
Tesa has been with Sports Country since 1994. Tesa has a masters of science in nursing and is a pediatric nurse practioner. She handles registration, manages the kitchen and is our camp nurse.
Travis Dalrymple
Travis has been at camp since 1991 when he was a camper and has transitioned from camper, to counselor to director. Travis graduated from Texas State University and is the head tennis coach at Westwood High School where he also teaches math. Travis heads up our tennis program and night activities but can be found on any of the playing fields. Travis keeps the energy and fun levels high with our campers and staff.
Christyn Baer
Christyn has worked at Sports Country since 2002. She currently works in San Antonio with the CE Group. Christyn has her master’s in sport management. She has coached swimming, basketball and soccer. Christyn can also be found in the bunkhouse, kitchen and on the playing fields. Christyn is a world-class athlete and was a 4 time national champion high jumper at Trinity University.
Autumn Larronde-kearney
Autumn has been with Sports Country since 1996 starting out as a camper and transitioning into a great counsellor for our campers. She is currently a registered nrurse in El Paso, TX. Autumn heads up our aquatics program but can also be found in the bunkhouse, kitchen, and on the playing fields.
Craig “the X-Factor” Koenig
Craig has been with Sports Country since starting out as a camper. He coaches football and baseball. Craig can also be found on all the playing fields as he is a true athlete. He currently studies at Arizona State University.
Caitlin Cash
Caitlyn has been with Sports Country since the age of 12. She transitioned from a camper to counselor to help with our soccer and earth skills program. Cash, as we like to call her is currently a student at Texas is a member of the 2009 Big 12 Championship Crew Team.
Keala Asher
Keala has been with Sports Country since 2004. Keala helps with our Aquatic Program and teaches art. She can also be found in the bunkhouse, kitchen and on the playing fields. Keala is finishing up her bachelor’s of arts in education with a focus in art and math.
Abby O’Reilly
Abby has been at Sports Country since she was a camper from age 7 all the way to 13. All of her brothers have been out as well! She started working here when she was 15 and has been here almost every year since. She is currently a Senior at Auburn University and we hope to convince her to stay in Texas. Abby will be working with soccer and basketball this summer.
Jack Kiser
Jack has been with Sports Country since 2004. After being one of our favorite campers for years, we knew we had to hire him. Jack is our Rover and helps out all around camp. He will also be teaching basketball and swimming this summer. Jack is graduating this Spring from St. Michaels and heading off to college this fall. Anywhere you find Jack at camp, we guarantee you will find his smile.
Caroline Doyle
Caroline is the oldest of all the Stark grandchildren and has been coming to Sports Country since she was 1 year old. She is a 3 time Belly Flop champion at camp and will be working the pool and the kitchen this summer. Caroline is from New Mexico but has been spending a lot of time across the pond in France. We are excited to have herthe whole summer this year.
Allison Schmitt
Allison has been at camp so long we cannot remember how many years. But we do remember how great of a soccer player she is. She is currently a senior at Bowie High in Austin and spends a lot of her time playing lacrosse. Allison has been working at camp for quite a few years now and is great on the soccer field and in the kitchen. No matter the time of day, any time you find Allison, you will find her in a good mood.
